  1. I tried to leave a comment on your other website (lexicalcreations) about your goal and on how to address a query letter, but it keeps being rejected. So I’ll try here:
    This is really helpful, Jen. All in all, sounds to me like it’s a crap shoot! That’s why self-publishing can be the way to go for many. The caveat is that they use beta readers and pay an editor and a copy reader to make sure their book is as good as it can be.
    That said, I’m impressed with your goal and say KEEP IT GOING.

      It really is a crap shoot trying to get published traditionally. The reason I’ve elected this route is because I don’t have the entrepreneurial guts to self-publish. But I do have the guts to keep querying until I find a publisher willing to take a chance on me.
